Garcia headlines women’s soccer’s three All-RRAC selections
WACO – On Friday, the Red River Athletic Conference announced its women's soccer All-Conference selections and three Texas A&M University-Victoria players landed on the list.
The Jaguars had a first team, honorable mention and a Champion Character selection on the 2025 list after going 8-5-5 overall and qualifying for their fourth RRAC Tournament in the last five seasons.
Ayloni Garcia was the first team selection as a midfielder in her first year at A&M-Victoria.
The McAllen native tied the single-season record for goals (14) and points (31) at A&M-Victoria this season to lead the team offensively. She ranked fourth in the RRAC in goals. The junior enjoyed a hot streak where she scored eight goals over five matches from Sept. 27-Oct. 11.
She also led the team with 58 shots and 32 shots on goal as she earned two RRAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Junior goalkeeper Jamie Noriega made the All-RRAC Honorable Mention after a strong season between the posts.
The Dickinson native held a conference-leading save percentage of .800 after making 72 saves in 14 games for the Jaguars this season. Noriega had 10 matches with five saves or more, including a season-high 11 saves in a 1-1 draw with Texas A&M-Texarkana on Oct. 4.
She was also a two-time RRAC Defensive Player of the Week selection.
Senior Goalkeeper Abree Fry was A&M-Victoria's Champion of Character selection for her commitment to the CoC's five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
The Lancaster, California, native earned four wins in six matches in goal for the Jaguars. She also earned an RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after making four saves in a 6-0 win over Huston-Tillotson on Sept. 18.
