Women’s golf competes with Division I Texas Southern

UHV's Emmily Bickelmann nearly notched her second career win on Thursday.

The senior from Weisbaden, Germany, shot a five-over 77 to finish second and one shot off of first place in a dual match with NCAA Division I program Texas Southern at The Club at Colony Creek.

Bickelmann had a pair of birdies and 11 pars on her card in UHV's penultimate event of the fall semester.

Madeline Pate and Evelyn Nguyen each shot an 80 to finish T-4.

Nguyen, a senior from Pearland, had a pair of birdies, as well. Pate kept a tidy scorecard with 13 pars, including a bogey-free back nine.

Remme Trujillo finished ninth after shooting an 89. Kaitlin Lopez finished 10th with a 92. Both players each had a birdie on their card.

Competing as individuals, Reese Trujillo (95) finished 11th and Laney Glass (96) finished 12th.

The Jaguars will be back at Colony Creek on Monday to kick off the UHV Fall Classic. The tournament's second round will be at Riverside Golf Course on Tuesday.
