A&M-Victoria falls to No. 24 LSU Alexandria in series finale
The Texas A&M University-Victoria softball team dropped a 9–1 decision to No. 24 LSU Alexandria on Friday afternoon at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex.
The Jaguars fell behind 5-0 in the top of the first inning before Sianna Miller singled and later crossed the plate after advancing into scoring position, but the Jaguars were unable to capitalize further despite loading the bases in the inning.
A&M-Victoria finished with four hits, spread across four different players. Miller, Angelina Morales, Cristela Trevino and Kitty Coe each recorded a hit, while A&M‑Victoria worked four walks but stranded seven runners on base.
In the circle, Kailea Freeman was tagged with the loss after allowing five runs in the opening frame. Madelyn Butler and Haley Noska combined to provide 4 2/3 innings of relief, limiting LSU Alexandria to four runs the rest of the way. Butler struck out one and allowed three runs, while Noska delivered three steady innings to close the game.
The loss moved A&M‑Victoria to 22–14 overall and 13-8 in Red River Athletic Conference play. The Jaguars go on the road for a three-game series at Louisiana Christian next Friday and Saturday.
