Her walk-off in the bottom of the seventh of Game 2 led the Jaguars to a doubleheader split with No. 24 LSU Alexandria on Tuesday at the Victoria Youth Sports Comlpex, bouncing back from a Game 1 loss.
The Jaguars (22-13, 13-7) handed the Generals just their fourth Red River Athletic Conference loss of the season while improving their conference standing with a resilient showing against one of the league's top teams. It's A&M-Victoria's second ranked win of the season.
Game 2
Alysa Perez reached on a two-out throwing error in the bottom of the seventh inning, allowing the winning run to score as A&M‑Victoria rallied past LSU Alexandria, 5–4, in the finale.
The Jaguars trailed 4–1 after four innings before chipping away. Alyssa Carter drove in a run with a single in the fifth and later scored on a throwing error by the catcher to make it a one-run game. A&M‑Victoria tied it in the sixth when Fayth Hoover doubled to right field to plate Emily Mayo.
In the seventh, Carter singled with one out and advanced into scoring position on a bunt. After two outs, Perez put the ball in play, and a throwing error by the Generals' shortstop allowed Carter to cross the plate for the walk-off run.
Hoover finished 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Daizie Fuentez added a double and an RBI. Carter went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored twice.
In the circle, Madelyn Butler went the distance for the Jaguars, scattering six hits and allowing four runs (two earned) to earn the win and improve to 4-2.
Game 1
LSU Alexandria used a five-run outburst across the middle innings to claim a 5–1 victory in the opener.
After scoreless frames early, Livie Thibodeaux put the Generals on the board with a solo home run in the fourth. LSU Alexandria added three runs in the fifth, taking advantage of a pair of walks and an A&M‑Victoria error, then tacked on an insurance run in the seventh.
The Jaguars' lone run came in the fifth inning when Madison Carr singled to center to drive in Keily Rosario. Carr accounted for one of A&M‑Victoria's two hits in the game, while Emily Mayo added the other with a single in the third.
