Trevor Stovall scored two second half goals Saturday to lift the University of Southwest Mustangs to a 2-1 victory over the university of Houston-Victoria Jaguars in the Red River Athletic Conference men's soccer match at the Cage.

The Jaguars had a four-game win streak snapped and fell to 5-2, 3-1 in conference with the loss, while the Mustangs improved to 5-3-1, 2-1 in conference.

The Jaguars jumped out to the lead just over five minutes into the game when Espen Hansen (JR/Kristiansand, Norway) buried a shot of a pass from Brian Foulger (SR/Leighton Buzzard, England), who received a pass from Patrick Coto (FR/Houston-TX).

That lead held until the 69th minute when Stovall struck for his first goal to tie the game. Stovall would strike again in the 86th minute off a pass from Jack Laurie.

The Jaguars outshot the Mustangs 13-9, including an 8-5 edge in shots on goal, but Mustangs goalkeeper Dominic Kutzke would defend off the other seven shots on goal.

Adrian Rodriguez (FR/McAllen, TX) fired off three shots to lead the Jaguars, while Hansen and Reece Hannigan (SR/Sutton Surrey, England) each had two. Foulger, Connagh Wilks (FR/Egham, England), Sydney Tume (FR/Houston, TX), Gian Marco Zancanaro (JR/Bassano del Grappa, Italy), Brody Patience (SO/Douglas, Isle of Man) and Uriel Garcia (SO/Pharr, TX) each put up one shot in the game.

The Jaguars return to action on Thursday at Texas College when they face the Steers in a 3:30 p.m. conference matchup.
