University of Houston-Victoria softball coach Lindsey Ortiz today announced the signing of NCAA Division-II transfer Angelica Davidson to a letter of intent to play softball for the Jaguars in 2018.
Davidson, a graduate of Gregory-Portland High School, transfers to UHV after a season with Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She appeared in just 16 games with SOSU where she had three runs and one RBI, while recording 41 putouts and 29 assists in 73 chances defensively.
The sophomore utility player was a four-year letter winner at Gregory-Portland and was named to the 2016 Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State softball team. She was also a member of the Gregory-Portland 2016 Class 5A state runner-up team and was named all-state at second base in 2016. She also earned all-district honors all four years and was a three-time All-South Texas award recipient.
She was named to the all-academic team four times and also earned recognition on the Dean's List and President's List.
"Everything just seemed to fall into place for me to come to UHV," said Davidson on making her commitment to UHV.
She plans to study business and finance while attending UHV.
