University of Houston-Victoria head baseball coach Terry Puhl today announced the signing of former Victoria West standout Garrett Harrison to a letter of intent to play baseball with the Jaguars.


Harrison transfers in from Blinn College after a year with Our Lady of the Lake University where he played one season with the Saints after graduating from Victoria West in 2015. During his one season with the Saints, Harrison compiled a .289 batting average with five doubles, two triples, 20 RBI and 15 runs in 46 games.


The pitcher/third baseman was an all-district selection at Victoria West and also earned a Gold Glove award and was named the teams' MVP. He was also named to the all-academic team in high school.


Harrison plans to study kinesiology while attending UHV.
