The University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars men's and women's soccer teams will be putting in some miles this season as the will play 10 of their 17 regular season games on the road in 2017.
UHV head coach Adrian Rigby announced his schedule this week with the Jaguars opening up at home on Saturday, Sept. 2. The women will host Sul Ross in a 2 p.m. match, while the men will tangle with William Carey, who finished the 2016 season ranked No. 9, at 4 p.m.
The UHV men will host Schreiner on Sept 5 at 4 p.m., while both teams will host Howard Payne on Sept. 9. The UHV women wrap up the Jaguars' home non-conference schedule on Sept. 12 by hosting Schreiner.
Non-conference road games will include Texas Wesleyan (Sept. 7), Mid-American Christian (Sept. 15) and Oklahoma City (Sept. 17).
The Jaguars will open Red River Athletic Conference play on Sept. 23 in Houston against St. Thomas and stay on the road for matches against LSU-Shreveport (Sept. 28) and LSU-Alexandria (Sept. 30).
UHV's first conference home game will be Oct. 5 against Paul Quinn, followed by the University of the Southwest on Oct. 7.
The Jaguars then head to Texas College on Oct. 12 and Jarvis Christian on Oct. 14, before wrapping up their home conference schedule with matches against Huston-Tillotson (Oct. 19) and Our Lady of the Lake (Oct. 21).
The regular season wraps up on Oct. 26 and 29 with conference games at Texas A&M-Texarkana and Wiley College.
The conference opening round tournament games are set for Nov. 3-4 with the conference tournament scheduled for Nov. 9-10 at Texas A&M-Texarkana.
Going into the season the two teams have a combined 70-47-6 record against their 2017 opponents with the women supporting a 32-25-2 record and the men a38-22-4 record.
Jaguars will also have two scrimmages to start the season as the host Texas A&M-International on Sept. 19 and Concordia-Austin on Aug. 26. Both games are set for 1 and 3 p.m. starts.
