University of Houston-Victoria women's soccer coach Adrian Rigby this week announced the signing of junior college transfer Tristan Sanchez to the women's team for the 2017 season.

Sanchez, a graduate of McKinney High School, played two seasons at NCAA Division 3 University of the Ozarks.

"Tristan is a versatile central midfielder," said Rigby. "She has solid collegiate experience and she is transferring from an NCAA Division III school. She reads the play well and is capable defensively as well as being creative in the attack."

The junior midfielder played in 29 games and started 22 during her two seasons with the Eagles.

"We are looking forward to Tristan making an impact right away in the middle of the field," Rigby added.

This past season she appeared in 18 games scoring one goal, while taking 12 shots, including eight shots on goal.

"Bigger things happen when people want the same things in life," said Sanchez in making her commitment to UHV.

Sanchez plans to study health science and psychology with a minor in business while attending UHV.
