Derek Maciejeski (FR/Tomball, TX) belted his first collegiate home run and helped the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars come away with a split in a doubleheader against the Texas A&M-International Dustdevils at Riverside Stadium.

Maciejeski's blast highlighted a four-run fifth as the Jaguars captured the opening game 4-2, before dropping the nightcap 15-1.

Maciejeski belted a three-run blast to left and Jacob Mihalski (JR/League City, TX) added the other RBI to lift the Jaguars (6-9) to a 4-0 lead.

The Dustdevils (5-13) tried to rally back in the sixth plating two runs, but would not be able finish off the rally.

Nathaniel Pena (FR/Angleton, TX), who allowed both runs, picked up the win in relief and improved to 2-0, while Andrew Gross (SR/Alvin, TX) pitched the final 1.2 innings for his first save.

Chase Tamez (SO/Cypress, TX) paced the offense going 3-for-4 with a run, while Mihalski added two hits to go along with Maciejeski's three RBI.

The Dustdevils jumped out quickly in the nightcap with a six-run second and then strolled to victory. TAMIU added three runs in the third, four in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Gross, who went 2-for-4, tallied the Jaguars lone run with his seventh home run of the season in the third inning. Garrett Gray-Mathis (FR/Smithville, TX) added two hits and Grant Westmoreland one for the Jaguars.
