SAN ANTONIO – A last second goal Saturday cost the University of Houston-Victoria women a first round bye in the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championships.

Our Lady of the Lake broke up a 1-1 tie with 6.7 seconds left to grab a 2-1 victory over the Jaguars leaving the Jaguars in third place in the conference standings.

The Jaguars (12-4-1, 6-2-1 in conference) will now host the sixth-seeded LSU-Alexandria Generals in a first round playoff game next Friday or Saturday at the Cage. The loss also snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Jaguars.

The Saints (16-2, 9-0 RRAC) clinch the regular season title and a first-round bye to the tournament to be played in Houston and hosted by Houston St. Thomas.

The Jaguars grabbed the early momentum when Tristan Hanks' throw in bounced past the OLLU goalkeeper to a waiting Ashleigh Thurman (FR/Frisco, TX) who deposited into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

The Saints would go on and take advantage of two set pieces scoring both goals off of corner kicks. The first came in the 25th minute when Erica Robertson would convert to tie the game at 1-1.

Maryssa Garza would then wrap up the victory in the closing second converting on another corner kick.

OLLU outshot the Jaguars 16-8, including a 9-7 edge in shots on goal.

Thurman and Emily Lupton (JR/Preston, England) each had three shots for the Jaguars, while Ashley Chapa (SO/Austin, TX) and Caroline Carvajal (SR/Sugar Land, Tx) each had one.

Bianca Galindo (JR/Houston, TX) was in goal for the Jaguars and had seven saves.
