The University of Houston-Victoria will be the headed to Jackson, Miss., as the fifth seed in the Jackson Bracket for the NAIA National Baseball Championship Opening Round.
The Jaguars (23-31) will face fourth-seeded Sterling (Kan.) in the opening game on Monday, with the winner advancing to face the top seed, Oklahoma Wesleyan (52-6) in the double elimination tournament. Sterling comes into the tournament at 39-18.
Also in the bracket will be second-seeded Oklahoma City (33-17) and third-seeded and host Belhaven (40-19).
The Jackson Bracket is one of nine five-team opening round double-elimination tournaments that will open on Monday. The nine winners will advance to the 58th annual Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series at Harris Field in Lewiston, Idaho, on May 23-30. The will be joined by host Lewis-Clark State.
