Three University of Houston-Victoria athletes finished in the top three in their respective divisions at the 4th annual Victoria City Championship golf tournament this past weekend.
Whitley Patterson, a junior transfer and first signee to the UHV women's golf program, won the women's division posting a three-day 235. Patterson, who attended McLennan College, carded rounds of 70-81-84 on the three local courses and breezed to a 23-shot victory.

University of Houston-Victoria golf coach Brian Williamson has announced the signing of six signees to the Jaguars' inaugural men's golf program.
Two players from England, both Western Texas College transfers, lead the group of signees.

Former Cuero Gobbler Austin Griffin has become the first member of the University of Houston-Victoria's inaugural men's golf program.
Griffin, who helped guide the Gobblers to four consecutive UIL Class 3A state tournament appearances, has committed to play golf for head coach Brian Williamson and the Jaguars.
Noreen Mohler, the U.S. captain for the 2010 Curtis Cup matches will be the guest speaker for the 2010 University of Houston-Victoria golf scholarship luncheon to be held September 9 at 11:30 a.m. at the UHV Multi-Purpose Room.
"We've been producing industry-leading custom wedges for five years, and in Victoria for the last three, and with the new golf program kicking off, we thought it would be great to do whatever we could to raise some financial support and interest in it," Eidolon Golf President Terry Koehler said. "That's why we'll be donating 15 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Special Edition UHV Jaguars wedge to the golf program."
