Coach Terry Puhl  
 
Terry Puhl enters his third season as the head coach of the Jaguars.  In 2 seasons, Puhl has guided the Jaguars to a record of 63 wins against 22 losses.  In 2009, the Jaguars won the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference Championship and advanced the NAIA National Championship Opening Round in Lubbock, Texas. 
 
Puhl began his Major League Baseball career in 1977 with the Houston Astros. In his first Major League game, Puhl got his first hit and followed it with 1,360 more in a career that spanned 15 years and 1,531 games. Over his 15 year career, Puhl was a .280 hitter and one of the best defensive players to ever play the game. Puhl continues to hold the Major League Baseball all-time record for lifetime fielding percentage (.993) by an outfielder. In the post-season, Puhl batted .372 (16 for 43) in 13 games.
 

Highlights of Terry Puhl's career include being part of the Astros National League (NL) West Division championship teams in 1980 and 1986; being selected to the National League All-Star Team in 1978 and being named Canadian Baseball Player of the Year in 1981.

In the 1980 championship series against the Philadelphia Phillies, Puhl set a then NL Championship series record with a .526 batting average in a losing cause. Puhl was a key part of a strong nucleus of players that kept the Astros contending for championships during the late 1970's and 1980's.

In 1994, Puhl was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame. The following year, he was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. On November 10, 2006 Terry will be inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame.

Puhl is also the head coach of the Canadian National Olympic Baseball Team.
   


Coach Keri Lambeth
 
Keri Lambeth is entering her third season as Jaguars head coach. Lambeth, a native of El Campo, Texas, has led the Jaguars to the post-season in each of her two seasons.  In 2008, the Jaguars advanced to the NAIA Regional Tournament.  Last year, the Jaguars won the A.I.I. Conference Championship and advanced to the National Championship Tournament in Decatur, Alabama.  Keri's career record at UHV is 67 wins and 30 losses.
 
2010 sees the return of only 5 players from the team that qualified for the national championship in 2009.
 
Lambeth began her collegiate softball career at a junior college. After earning an associate degree at Texarkana College, she transferred to the University of Houston where she competed as a catcher on the inaugural UH softball team and completed a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and sport administration. Lambeth then went on to work as a graduate assistant softball coach at George Washington University.
