Whitney Stromgren spent four years as a member of the golf team at NCAA, Division I, Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi from 2002-2006. During her four seasons she recorded one win, several top 10 finishes, was team captain, a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Board, and Named to the NCAA Division I All Independent Golf Team.

After a successful playing career, with the Islanders, Stromgren was the Graduate Assistant Golf Coach under Carol Blackmar, 2006-2007.

A native of Topeka, Kansas, Stromgren comes from a golf family. Her father played collegiate golf and is now the boy's and girl's golf coach at Washburn Rural High School, one of the premier high school programs in Kansas.
 
Stromgren graduated from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in speech communications and a minor in public relations.
