No one will come all the way from 1876 in a stagecoach to watch the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars baseball team kick off its third season, but it may look like that on Saturday.
The stagecoach is just one of many extras fans can enjoy Friday, Saturday and Sunday, along with free T-shirts and magnets.
"Thanks to the generous support of Wells Fargo Advisors, we have a lot of gifts to offer our fans, in addition to three days of great college ball," UHV Athletics Director Ashley Walyuchow said.
The action will start at 2 p.m. Friday against Northwood University in a doubleheader at historic Riverside Stadium. As part of a "businessman's special," fans can present a business card and get $2 off the cost of admission.
On Saturday, fans can take pictures and ride on the Wells Fargo Stagecoach from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Free magnet schedules, courtesy of Wells Fargo Advisors, will be given out to all fans entering the ballpark, while supplies last. At 1 p.m., the Jaguars will face Northwood University again in doubleheader action.
On Sunday, the first 200 fans will receive free T-shirts when they buy tickets to watch the Jaguars play Southwestern University starting at 2 p.m.
Tickets are available at Riverside Stadium the day of the game. The Riverside Stadium box office and gates will open one hour before game time.
