This year's 27-date schedule features a total of 21 home games.
The Jaguars will open the season at home with a doubleheader against San Jacinto College on Saturday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. and will then spend the rest of February traveling to tournaments.
"Our fans have asked for more games at Burdge Field and this year we have delivered more home games," UHV Director of Athletics Ashley Walyuchow said. "One enhancement to our home schedule this year is our invitational tournament in March."
The UHV Invitational is a four-team round robin featuring Oklahoma Baptist University, Simon Fraser University from Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada and Louisiana State University-Alexandria.
UHV head softball coach Keri Lambeth says the softball team is excited to play more games at home.
"Simon Fraser and Oklahoma Baptist will be good competition for us and our fans," Lambeth said. "I expect LSUA to be much improved as well. If all goes well, we may be able to make it a bigger tournament in 2011."
Softball season passes are now on sale at the UHV Athletics Office, located in Room 122 of the University Center, 3007 N. Ben Wilson. All seating at Burdge Field is general admission. Adult season passes are $50. Non-UHV student passes are $30.
The 2009 Jaguars won the Association of Independent Institutions conference championship and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, Alabama and finished #11 in the final NAIA coaches poll.
