LAGUNA VISTA - Morgan DeSive fired a final round 79 Monday to finished tied for seventh in leading the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the UT-Brownsville Women's Fall Shootout.

DeSive finished the 36-hole event at 164 after an opening round 85 on Monday at the par-72, 6,030-yard South Padre Island Golf Course. The Corpus Christi senior finished 10 shots back of individual winner Kaitlin Hovda of Texas-Pan American who carded a 75-79-154. DeSive's 79 was only one of four sub-80 rounds on the day.

 

Yoakum freshman Olivia Esparza followed DeSive in a tie for 13th with a two-day 177 after rounds of 90-87 as the Jaguars posted a 713 team score.

UT-Pan American won the team title with a 634, while Texas A&M-Kingsville followed in second at 674, with host UT-Brownsville third at 679.

Behind DeSive and Esparza for the Jaguars, Lyndie Smith posted an 89-95-184, Devon Dueser a 95-96-191 and Allison Koenig a 99-93-192.

The tournament was the final fall event for the Jaguars.
