Morgan DeSive and Lyndie Smith recorded a pair of 86s Monday to lead the University of Houston-Victoria women's golf team in the final round of the Texas State University Claud Jacobs Challenge at Victoria Country Club.

Competing as the lone NAIA team and against 16 NCAA Division I schools, the Jaguars finished 17th overall posting a 54-hole score of 1175 after shooting a final round 397.

Host Texas State earned a three-peat with an eight-shot win over Kansas. The Bobcats posted a final round 304 to finish at 912, while Kansas tallied a 308 to finish at 920. Tulsa and North Texas tied for third at 923 with Tulsa edging North Texas for third place on the fifth-players score.

Texas State's Krista Puisite and Tulsa's Kamryn Ruffin tied for individual honors after posting a 54-hole 225.

DeSive paced the Jaguars overall tying for 75th with a three round 257. Smith finished with a 266 and was followed by Larissa Loredo with a 291 and Devon Dueser a 361.

The Jaguars return to action on Feb. 28-March 1 at the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Spring Classic.
