PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Shelbi Vincent (SR/Nederland, TX) moved up three spots in the individual standings Saturday but the University of Houston Victoria women's golf team remained in eighth place after two rounds of the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship at the PGA Golf Club.

 

Defending champion Bethune-Cookman University is one round from defending its title as it increase its first-round lead over the University of the Incarnate Word to 13 shots. BCU posted a second round 297 for a 36-hole total of 592, while UIW is in at 605 after a second round 304.

 

 The Jaguars after posting an opening round 366 turned in a 363 second round and stand at 729 going into Sunday's final round. Delaware State (358-369-727) is two shots ahead of the Jaguars in seventh place.

 

Vincent, with rounds of 83-79-162, is in 20th place to pace the Jaguars. Viviana Yzquierdo (FR/Barbers Hills, TX) has posted rounds of 84-91-174 for the Jaguars, while Reid Whaley (SO/Nederland, TX) is in at 97-89-186 and Jo Ellen Canales (SO/Corpus Christi, TX) 103-104-207.

 

Bethune-Cookman's Mackenzie Butzer holds the individual lead with at even-par 144 after rounds of 69-75, while UIW's Madison Frerking is in second three shots back at 73-74-147..
