The University of Houston-Victoria men's and women's golf teams will be  looking at a busy spring season as each team will participate in five tournaments in preparation for a chance at the NAIA National Championships in May.


The women's squad will open the season Feb. 6-7 at the Texas A&M-International Invitational in Laredo at the Laredo Country Club before hosting the annual Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate at The Club at Colony Creek on Feb. 18-20.


The UHV men's first action will be in the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate at Victoria Country Club on Feb. 18-20. They will then close out February at to South Padre Intercollegiate on Feb. 26-28.


Both teams will take part in the LeTourneau Pinecrest Intercollegiate on March 12-14 at Pinecrest Country Club in Longview before travelling to the St. Gregory's Spring Cavalier Classic at Shawnee Country Club in Shawnee, Okla., on April 2-4.


The UHV women will then make their bid for the NAIA National Championships will they take part in the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships on April 24-25 at Gaillarda Country Club in Oklahoma City.


The UHV men will be competing for the Red River Athletic Conference title at the same time, April 24-25, at the Olympia Hills Golf Course in Universal City.


Both teams are again looking at participating in the PGA Minority Championships in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on May 11-14.


The NAIA Men's National Championships is planned for May 16-19 at TPC Deere Run in Deerfield, Ill., while the NAIA Women's National Championships are set for May 23-26 in Palm Beach, Fla.
