The University of Houston-Victoria women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season Friday, while the men's squad remained winless as the Jaguars split games with the Concordia University-Austin Tornadoes.

Chelsea DeLeon powered home the Jaguars first goal in the second half to lift the Jaguars to a 1-0 win over the Tornadoes, while CUA also posted a second half goal to win the men's contest 1-0.

DeLeon's goal came in the 63rd minute on an indirect kick with an assist from Brittany Rangel.

Sarah Saldivar and Maria Pina combined for nine saves in goal for the Jaguars (1-2).

The UHV men missed on a number of opportunities throughout the contest and paid the price late in the game when Matt Waltz converted from inside the box off a corner kick in the 67th minute.

The Jaguars (0-2) outshot the Tornadoes (1-0) 19-8 as UHV goalkeeper Seth Prochaska had three saves.
