The university of Houston-Victoria men's soccer team will open its inaugural season Thursday against the St. Mary's Rattlers in a 1 p.m. contest in San Antonio.

Coach Adrian Rigby's inaugural squad is comprised of four juniors, four sophomores and 22 freshmen and will get a real test early against the Rattlers, an NCAA Division II school that competes in the Heartland Conference.

The Jaguars will turn right around on Friday and host Concordia University-Austin, an NCAA Division III school, in its home opener at 5 p.m. at the St. Joseph-O'Connor Sports Complex on Cameron St.

Two former Memorial Vipers are members of the Jaguars inaugural squad and include freshman forward Stiven Ospina and sophomore goalkeeper Seth Prochaska.
