University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars third baseman Allison Hinton was selected to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NAIA All-American second team on Friday.

Hinton (Matagorda) compiled a .368 batting average and led the team with 10 home runs, four triples and 45 RBI in 52 games. She also scored 40 runs, banged out 11 doubles and had a .649 slugging percentage.

"Allison was a big part of our offense this year and came through on a number of occasions with key hits," UHV head softball coach Keri Lambeth said.

Hinton was one of four Jaguars chosen to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NAIA All-Southwest Region team, but the lone UHV representative on the All-American squad. Hinton and Courtney Pettit were first-team selections on the All-Region team, while Tasha Rotramel and Izzy Glowney were second team selections.
