The University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars softball team will host their first-ever tournament this weekend, March 19, 20 and 21. The 4 team, round-robin format will feature 7 total games spread over 3 days. All games will be played at Burdge Field located in the St. Joseph High School - O'Connor Athletic Complex, 3006 North Cameron Street.

The 4 teams participating this year represent 2 states and 2 countries. Host UHV will compete along with Oklahoma Baptist University (Shawnee, OK), Huston-Tillotson University (Austin, TX) and Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada).

"The quality of play should be excellent," said UHV athletic director Ashley Walyuchow. "Us and Simon Fraser are top 15 in the preseason poll and Oklahoma Baptist has a winning record."

The tournament begins at 3:00 Friday afternoon as the Jaguars take on Huston-Tillotson with 2 more games to follow Friday evening.
