Solid pitching helped UHV to a sweep of today's doubleheader against Huston-Tillotson University.
Jaguars' starting pitching combined for 22 strike outs on the day.
In game one, lefty Broc Haymon struck out 12 and gave up 5 hits in six and two third innings to earn his first win of the year and even his record at 1-1.

Anthony Phillips hit a two run homer in the fifth inning, his first of the year, to break open a 3-2 game.  The Jaguars would add 3 more in the sixth to round out the scoring.  Pinch hitter Joey Briones and catcher Jose Quintanilla also drove in two runs each to help pace the Jaguars.

Casey Newman relieved Haymon in the sixth to record the final out.

Zack Moya pitched a complete game two hitter to pick up his first win of the year as the Jaguars took win 3-1.  Moya struck out 10 and the Jaguars scored all their runs in the third inning and held off the Rams for the win.  Austin Kent's 2 run double was the key to the inning.

The Jaguars (10-15) have won four straight and are 9-5 in their last 14 games after starting the season 1-10.

This weekend, the Jaguars travel to Northwood University for a 3 game series on Saturday and Sunday.
