The University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars softball team upset Oklahoma City University Stars, the number three team in the NAIA, in the first game of the Louisiana State University - Alexandria Invitational.

Timely hitting combined with some shoddy defence and shaky pitching from OCU helped the 13th ranked Jaguars to the win.

Jaguar Courtney Pettit drove in the game's first run with an RBI double in the first.  Two throwing errors by Stars Catcher Nathalie Timmermanns, one in the fourth innning and one in the sixth inning, led to two UHV runs.

Tasha Rotramel limited the Stars to 3 hits to pick up the win and helped her own cause with a bases loaded single in the sixth that plated two runs.

With the win, the Jaguars improve to 5-2 on the season and will play continue Invitational play today with games against Alcorn State and LSUA.
